2a east mount street
see images of what we bought and what we made of it before the refurb began in july 2009.
these are some of the people that participated in the recreation of 2a.
below, slideshows for each area of the house - before, during, after:
and finally, here’s the people and stuff we would like to call out:
geoff chance at informed developments, our contractor (why don’t i have a decent picture of you and why isn’t your website up?). i have his number. geoff built it. he also found our sink for the mezzanine, our taps for the bathroom AND built one of my favourite things. the concrete worktop.
the tiles came from tiles by textiles by the way.
the arty architects at public works torange khonsari (ebay buyer extraordinaire) and andreas lang.
my cousin jose cortizo at devonstone for our beautiful oriental basalt (moor’s green) and the utmost patience of his stonemasons. also the good folk at beltrami.
step haselden at tall engineers (they really are).
les (and sons) at steelfab E10. we got there in the end.
the wasp is ted swiet’s - artist and industrial designer.
so much is ebay (antiques section). of which the best find - the chapel doors - from the study to the main space.
alan and yanki we love you. thank you.
parquet in bedroom and oak flooring on mezzanine by turgon in east finchley.
the shower, bath and several bathroom fittings are fromĀ catchpole and rye.
wallpaper - timorous beasties.
and finally….steve alder of jackson coles. steve - this really is the money shot, no?
