Plastic

plastic

recreated for each location, plastic explores one man’s quest to enter the world of women in a dynamic and stylish piece that combines video, architecture, lighting, music and performance in an intimate surreal show.

premiered at the edinburgh fringe festival in 2008, at the undergrand, plastic has since undergone several transformations - as a film installation at the village green, southend, in full glory at the maginificent victoria baths, manchester in october 2009, and now in the more intimate residential setting of 2a east mount street, behind the whitechapel gift shop, march 2010.

plastic has received many accolades on its journey:

nominated for the total theatre award in experimentation and innovation and selected by the guardian as one of their top four shows at the festival (2008):

“a succession of stylised vignettes whose relationship remains teasing and enigmatic” the guardian (4 stars)

“all sense are arrested by this surreal stylish site-specific piece” 3 weeks (4 stars)

“superb dance and movement” the scotsman

“like an underworld imagined by cocteau” the list

30 bird productions

30 bird create performance, film, music and art. the work of 30bird is non narrative exploring the visual, audio and textual expressions of desire. they begin each project through a set of images establishing connections of textures, rhythm and composition.

their work is performed in different venues: theates, cinemas, sites and even a whole city. the audience has a direct relationship to the set or site where the performance takes place; their experience of 30 bird’s world is a poetic one, informed by association rather than meaning.

30 bird works with practitioners from various disciplines: architecture, science, the visual arts, dance, music, theatre and film and from around the world including uk, iran, germany, india and italy.
